Frequently Asked Questions
We are a registered United States Masters Swimming club for anyone 18 or over that can swim one length (25 yds) of the pool continuously.
The term Masters simply means over 18, not expert. We offer three levels of swimmers at each practice: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
All practices are led by an experienced coach and lanes are divided up by speed and ability.
USMS registration is required to be a member of PAMS.
CLICK HERE to register for USMS before registering for a PAMS membership. You can be registered with any club in USMS.
$95 monthly dues auto-billed on the first of each month.
During the registration process, dues for that month will not be prorated depending on what day of the month you join but rather will fall into one of three categories:
1) 1st - 12th of the month - $95.00
2)13th-26th of the month - $55.00
3) 27th-30th (31st) - $0.00
In addition, there is a one-time only $25 new member registration fee.
SMU requires PAMS members to register for a parking permit.
Parking permits are in digital format so you will not receive anything to post on your vehicle. SMU will be scanning license plates.
Steps to register your vehicle can be found on our Membership Information Page.
Visitors may park for free along Prentice Street (by the DART rails) and on SMU Blvd in front of the Post Office.

Registered USMS members who are traveling to Dallas from over 100 miles away can request a visitor pass. Please allow 24-48 hours during weekday business hours for processing.
Pegasus Masters will not swim outdoors during thunder and lightning storms, tornado watches and warnings. Morning and noon practices will move indoors when outside temperature including wind chill is 40 degrees Fahrenheit or cooler. Evening practices are always outside unless there is lightning.
Unless notified differently, we will move practice changes caused by weather to the indoor pool.
When lightning is detected within a 10-mile radius, state law and SMU campus policy require that the pool be cleared and the pool deck evacuated for 30 minutes from the last detected presence of lightning. When lightning is detected we will move indoors.
The final decision regarding swim location and pool clearance lies with the coach on the pool deck.
Please fill out this form to request that your membership be cancelled or suspended.
We need at least 3 business days to process and send your a confirmation email prior to the 1st of the month billing cycle.
We can only suspend memberships short term (6 months or less) and with an intended date to return.
If you are uncertain on your return, then it will be considered a cancellation.
There is no fee to rejoin the club if you cancel and rejoin at a later time. You will need to contact us first to rejoin so we may unlock your account to login and rejoin.
We do not give retroactive refunds on unused membership time.

1. SMU Enter and exit using the Katy Trail gate. This is the gate at the southeast corner of the pool. Once practice begins, the gate will no longer be open. If you're late for practice, expect to wait a few minutes while the coach is coaching until he or she can make it back to reopen the gate.
2. Understanding and following rule 1 will help you decide where to park. Hint: not by the gate we no longer use, unless the long walk around is what you are looking for.
3. Enter and exit the indoor pool only through the hallway separating the two pools. Access the hallway from the outdoor pool locker rooms. Please make sure you leave the building the same way you entered. One point of entry and exit.
4. Doors behind the diving well are not to be used except in an emergency. See rule number three (3).
5. The above policies apply to the Pegasus Aquatic Masters' scheduled swim times. Water Polo, age group swimming and diving have different access requirements. The safety of those of us using the facility is the priority and reason for the strict policy
The goal is to control access to the building, keep everyone safe and your valuables secure.
PAMS members have access and are able to use the indoor locker rooms during our morning and noon practice times. Swims during the evening hours, will not have access to the indoor locker rooms. The changing rooms next to the outdoor pool are open and available for all Pegasus practice sessions.
