This Open Water Workshop is a hands-on, coached training session designed to build open water confidence and skill. Participants will learn and practice skills like safety, sighting, navigation, drafting, pacing, race strategy, and group swimming, all with direct coaching and feedback in an open water environment.​​

LOCATION

Just a three-hour drive and roughly 170 miles northeast of Dallas, Broken Bow tucked into the pine forests of southeastern Oklahoma offers an effortless weekend getaway. Between days spent on the water, evenings dining on open-air patios, and relaxing in upscale cabins, it's an easy trip that makes even a quick escape feel immersive and unhurried.

ACCOMODATIONS

Our primary team base for the weekend will be the Beavers Bend Lodge, situated right near the water. When making your reservation, be sure to request the special Pegasus Aquatics group rate to secure the discounted pricing  ($135 a night, single or double occupancy) for our team block. Book before 9/2 to secure a room. After the 2nd, rooms are based on availability and not guaranteed.
 

If you prefer alternative accommodations or the lodge fills up, there are plenty of options nearby. The state park and surrounding area offer fully equipped campsites, cozy rustic cabins, and private rental properties just a short drive from our main gathering spot.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Three Supported Swims: The workshop includes three organized open water swim sessions—two scheduled for Saturday and one on Sunday morning.

  • Course & Safety Support: All swims feature clearly buoy-marked courses paired with full kayak and safety personnel coverage on the water.

  • Instruction & Guidance: You will receive dedicated instruction on open water skills, and technique instructions throughout the sessions.

  • Welcoming Environment: Designed to be safe, encouraging, and inclusive for both first-time open water swimmers and experienced athletes.

PRICING

Swimmers $150* - Includes three escorted swims, Saturday night Dinner, open water swimming buoy, limited edition Cap

Family & Friends (non-swimmers) - No event fee (meals not included)

If you register after 9/18, you are not guaranteed a buoy or cap.

* Non-Refundable. If the workshop is cancelled due to weather, participants can receive a credit towards a future meet, workshop, or event.

1. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participating in the Open Water Workship involves inherent risks, including but not limited to bodily injury, illness, property damage, or death. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, associated with my participation.

2. Release and Waiver

In consideration for being allowed to participate in the event, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Pegasus Aquatic Masters, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury that may be sustained by me while participating in the event.

3. Medical Authorization

I certify that I am physically fit and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional. In the event of an emergency, I authorize event staff to secure necessary medical treatment on my behalf.

4. Media Release

I grant Pegasus Aquatic Masters permission to use photograph, video, or audio recordings taken of me during the event for marketing, promotional, or public relations purposes.
